On Wednesday January 27, our home town Geelong was the victim of a freak storm, where an unprecedented 72mm of rain fell in an hour (54mm of which fell in 30 minutes). Much of the town has suffered as the cleanup was a sizable task, and sadly, we were part of this group, as our new warehouse, filled with stock, was deemed unsalvageable.
The impact of this devastation has been compounded by the fact that we had moved house a few days earlier, and we were storing our personal belongings in the back of our warehouse. So in addition to losing the business we loved, we have lost most of our personal belongings also, the irreplaceable stuff.
Whilst rebuilding Bushel & a Peck is something we are committed to doing, the fact that we have the enormous job of rebuilding our personal life also, makes this task seem unachievable. As a result, we have had to cease operating as Bushel & a Peck Homewares, which breaks our hearts beyond measure. We have given our heart and soul to this business, and have worked hard to build this dream from scratch. We had great things planned for 2016 for the business and the growth in the first 12 months, has been quite unbelievable.
We have met some beautiful people in this industry, made some gorgeous friends, and learned a lot about many things. It has been a terrific ride, but sadly, due to reasons which are completely beyond our control, we need to close and focus on rebuilding our lives and looking after our little family.
If you have any enquiries, don’t hesitate to drop us a line at email@example.com and we can direct you as best we can, to an alternate stockist.
